SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Sioux Falls man has been sentenced to 9 years in federal prison for his role in a money laundering scheme.
32-year-old Marvin Williams was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Instruments last November.
According to court documents, from 2020 to April 2022, Williams conspired with others to commit bank fraud.
The scheme impacted numerous financial institutions, including several in Sioux Falls.
After obtaining funds through fraud, Williams moved the money around to other banks in order to conceal the proceeds of the scheme.
