WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — It’s a well deserved honor for an Iowa Senator.
U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has been named Legislator of the Year by the Wounded Warrior Project.
Ernst, a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, was awarded the distinguished honor for her successful efforts to spearhead bipartisan legislation to bring a Global War on Terrorism Memorial to the National Mall.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a charity for wounded servicemen and first responders of the post 9/11 era.
