SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The plucky cornstalk that grew out of the urban concrete on 57th Street near Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls is no more.
This morning, someone or something removed the brave maize plant from the street.
A photo on Twitter showed the once defiant agricultural plant lying on its side in the gutter.
The cellulose-based life form gave many Sioux Falls residents joy. It even had its own Twitter feed.
The deceased corn plant was several months old.
The 57th street corn has been uprooted and tossed to the side as of this morning 😔. @Argus911 pic.twitter.com/BX3VyR0HkA
