Patrol officers spotted a car and recognized the driver as not having a driver’s license.
After pulling into a parking lot, a passenger in the back seat brandished a shotgun.
Police fired their weapons.
The two people in the front seat hit the ground.
Police caught the man with the shotgun in a nearby car wash. He fled without the shotgun, which remained in the car.
No one was hurt.
Police arrested:
- Lovencia Badwound, 33, from Sioux Falls, the driver of the vehicle.
- Elijah James Wright, 24, front seat passenger, no town given.
- Mario Reyes Rodriguez, 26, from Sioux Falls, the person in the back seat who allegedly brandished the shotgun.
They are charged with weapons counts, possession of drugs and paraphernalia, parole violations, and other crimes.
