DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is holding their 2nd Annual Picnic in the Park in Dell Rapids. The community picnic starts at three o’clock Sunday afternoon at the city park. People can get to know the deputies and other first responder’s.
During the picnic officers will be conducting a bicycle safety course in memory of Zander Heathcote, the 14-year-old Dell Rapids boy who died earlier this summer in a bicycle vs pickup crash. The sheriff’s office says they will be providing helmets for kids, and will have other prizes as well.
