We had a conversation recently about the Mobridge, SD man who had amassed quite a beautiful collection of cars recently.
You’ve heard about my Batman collection many times. I’ve accumulated quite a number of things over the years that interested me.
The problem is they didn’t fit into my Batman collection at home.
Instead, they started accumulating in my office at work. I’ve got radios, toys and knick-knacks of all kinds that interest me.
Please enjoy the quick trip through my stuff!!

ABOVE: Star Trek has been something I’ve enjoyed throughout my life. You’ll see a Lone Ranger figure from Gabriel and a Lone Ranger squirt gun (above left). There’s Popeye the Sailor alongside Dr. Who and K9 with the robot from Lost in Space behind them. Check out that Captain Action figure in the back! Loved that toy when I was a kid! Did you see Karl Kolchak’s press pass from The Night Stalker (that movie scared the hell out of me!)? The black bird near the top is a small replica of The Maltese Falcon.

ABOVE: Many have loved the humor of Laurel and Hardy. It’s one of the reasons that Alan Hale Jr. patterned the Skipper after Oliver Hardy. In front of them are the Ghostbusters and the Ecto 1. Kirk and the Enterprise again (you’ll see a lot of them in my collection). The Blues Brothers and the classic Bluesmobile off to the right. Behind them is Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet (he talks)! And Spaaaace Ghoooost!

ABOVE: Mego was a really popular toy line in the 1960’s and 1970’s. They made figures from many popular TV shows and movies, such as Star Trek, Batman, Planet of the Apes, etc. Mego is back and producing old favorites again. Most of these are the vintage figures, not reproductions. The Vault-Tec Pipboy is from my all time favorite video game Fallout 4. Darth Vader is one of the best movie villains ever. And an electronic U.S.S. Enterprise A on the far right.

Yikes! Another challenge for the Green Hornet and his aide Kato! Behind them is a 1950’s Heartland Lone Ranger. The one here is missing the original pistols but otherwise complete. Center is Admiral James Kirk and Khaaaaaaaaaaaan!! On the far right is Spiderman and the 1970’s Godzilla.

ABOVE: I’ve loved the Universal monsters for as long as I can remember. I built Aurora models of these characters when I was a kid. These figures from Sideshow Toys really rekindle those movie and model memories for me. Freddy Krueger from “Nightmare on Elm Street” is off to the left. Several antique radios are behind. The larger radio on the right is a Montgomery Ward Airline.

ABOVE: Rounding out my collection of monster figures from Sideshow Toys. Lon Chaney Jr.’s “The Wolf Man” is front and center. The Alien is at far right. There’s a plastic face-hugger inside that egg.

ABOVE: The large floor radio below is an RCA Victor. Resting on top is another RCA Victor which says on the front, “Designed for Television attachment”. The ‘microphones’ on either side are replicas. The KELO microphone in the center isn’t actually a microphone. It’s a radio. KELO gave these promotional radios out years ago in the early days of the station. You’ll notice that it doesn’t say KELO “AM”. FM radio had not yet been developed. Instead it says 1320 KC (kilocycles). It’s one of my greatest vintage treasures.
