SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The mini-Minnesota Avenue gas war in Sioux Falls has escalated.
Ok, at least a bit.
Wednesday, we reported that the Kum & Gos on North Minnesota Ave lowered the price of regular unleaded gasoline to $4.09.
However, early Thursday morning, from Harrisburg to central Sioux Falls, KELO.com News noticed gasoline prices of $4.09, $4.12, $4.14, and $4.19 a gallon.
According to AAA, one year ago, the average for a gallon of unleaded gas in South Dakota was $2.90.
But the Sioux Falls skirmish has come to the rest of the state.
AAA also South Dakota has also set a new record average high for gasoline at $4.19/gallon. The national average also hit a high at $4.58/gallon. See the AAA Tweet below.
