YANKTON, S.D. (KELO.com) — Clean up and recovery continues from the derecho and tornadoes that swept across much of eastern South Dakota last Thursday.
Governor Kristi Noem says it was another unusual weather event.
Noem says she has been to many of the communities that took significant damage. She also says a number of farms were also damaged the storm.
Noem says it will be expensive for many to rebuild.
She says state resources are limited to providing help to mostly public infrastructure and local governments.
