SIOUX COUNTY, IA (KELO.com) — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office had a top dog at the narcotic trials in Spencer, Iowa. K9 Sonny, attended the annual United States Police Canine Association narcotics trials with his sergeant, Justin De Bruin. To maintain or receive certification, five cars and three rooms are searched to locate four narcotic hides. The Sioux County, Iowa, team received 198.83 points out of 200 and placed 9th overall. 55 canine teams competed in the trials searching for methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
