SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A 22-year-old man now faces murder and manslaughter charges in Lincoln County in the death of Randi Gerlach.
Lincoln County States Attorney Tom Wollman said a grand jury recently issued the upgraded charges against Jackson Phillips.
Wollman also said the two once had a romantic relationship.
Gerlach had also taken out a non-contact order against Phillips after a previous attack.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Phillips could face life in prison or the death penalty.
