SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — KELO.com News news director Todd Epp interviewed Sioux Falls mayoral candidates David Zokaites via Microsoft Teams Friday afternoon.
The other candidates are incumbent Paul TenHaken and Taneeza Islam.
Zokaites says he’s like to see city elections publicly financed. He thinks that would take the money out of politics and make the mayor and city councilors more responsive.
He also thinks there needs to be more emphasis on the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction and mental health issues as a way to lower crime.
The election is Tuesday. Early voting has already started.
