CANTON, S.D. (KELO.com) — A hit and run accident injuring a young woman is the cause of the shutdown of Interstate 29 near the Harrisburg and Tea exits early this morning.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office says a young juvenile woman was walking north on I-29 about 3 a.m.
An unknown vehicle hit her and left the scene.
Authorities say the girl has serious life-threatening injuries.

A juvenile female who was standing or walking northbound on I 29 was struck by an unknown vehicle we are asking the public for any information they may have regarding this incident.
