SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – A damp day is in store for the area Sunday. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible, then more significant storms are expected to develop by late Sunday evening.
The National Weather Service says some of these storms could be severe, especially west of Interstate 29, with large hail and damaging wind being the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible, which could lead to ponding of water in poor drainage areas. The immediate Sioux Falls area is in a marginal threat for severe weather.
Some storms could linger into Monday morning, with some redeveloping again Monday afternoon, mainly north of Interstate 90. Severe weather is not expected Monday afternoon.
For the rest of the week, The Sioux Falls area will see high temperatures in the low to mid 70’s. Overnight lows will be in the 50’s.
