SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Thanks to good information from the public and quick action by Sioux Falls Police patrol officers, a Sioux Falls robbery suspect is in jail.
Samuel Oreoluwa Roberts, 21, from Sioux Falls, is charged with two robberies on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Just five minutes after robbing a store in the 7100 block of 41st Street Wednesday, police nabbed Roberts.
Roberts is also a suspect in a robbery in the 5100 Block of South Louise Avenue Tuesday.
Police say employees at the 41st Street store said Roberts came in and said he didn’t want to hurt anyone. Then they said he reached into his sweatshirt and heard what sounded like racking the slide on a handgun.
Roberts is charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree and attempting to commit a felony with a firearm.
Police say great information from the public after the first robbery and alert police work by the patrol officers led to the arrest.
