SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Dakota Vaping Association says legal vaping shops in South Dakota are getting unfairly blamed for vaping-related illnesses.
The Association’s Jordan Mason says all the medical issues are linked to black market products, not legal devices.
There may be moves in the 2020 State Legislature to restrict vaping. The Vaping Association may conduct a kind of pre-emptive strike.
Mason says his group may propose legislation to better keep vaping devices out of the hands of minors by registration at the point of sale in South Dakota.
“Would allow us to track every vaping product, who purchased it, when they purchased it, and it would be verified by the Verified ID System, using their driver’s license.”
Cases of vaping-related illness in South Dakota have increased – confirmed cases are now up to nine, according to the State Health Department.
