SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The new Sioux Falls City Center building experienced a water leak Sunday.
City officials say the leak caused damage to the southeast portion of the first and second floors of the City Center.
They estimated 750-1,000 gallons of water was discharged from a water cooler line that broke. Damage includes several ceiling tiles, delaminated desks and file cabinets, books and other paper, and phones and computer monitors.
“There was a failure of a waterline cap in the kitchenette of the second floor for a water cooler,” according to TJ Nelson, the Mayor’s deputy chief of staff.
Crews are working to dry up the mess.
The City hasn’t yet determined how much the damage and repairs will cost.
