SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Though the system is still unsettled, the snowstorm approaching from the west could be a doozy for us in the Sioux Falls area later this week.
Accuweather meteorologist Evan Myer does not mince words in his Weather Insider Podcast.
“I think there is going to be a stripe of snow across the central and eastern Dakotas where they could easily get 6-12 inches,” Myer said. “I could see some spots getting more. And I can see how this turns into a blizzard.”
Yes, the b-word. Blizzard.
The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls on Twitter is more cautious.
- While there remains much uncertainty, there is growing confidence that an impactful winter type storm will affect the region for the end of the week. It is much too early to forecast exact snowfall amounts as model solutions may change! Continue to monitor your local forecast!
