SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Southeast Tech and AAA are teaming up for a free seminar on the future impact of self-driving cars in South Dakota.
AAA’s Marilyn Buskohl says fully robotic cars are not in the state yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Much of the technology is already here.
“The brake assist, the lane departure assist, the back up camera on cars, all these types of things.”
The seminar is set for Monday, October 21, at Tech, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Buskohl says the seminar will help clear up misconceptions about self-driving cars. For example, some people think that drivers will just be able to kick back and not do a thing.
“You’re not going to be able to sit back and actually read a book, that kind of thing..at least, for a while.”
The seminar is called ‘Technology Takes The Wheel.’
