SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police arrest a carjacker with a bit of a conscience.
A mother left her two-year-old daughter in a running car in front of a convenience store at 10th and Cliff this morning.
Graylin Bryant Tanner, 36, a transient, according to police, stole the car with the toddler inside.
A few miles away, at 6th and West, Tanner dropped the baby off in their car seat at a laundromat.
And a few more miles away at 8th and Phillips, police arrested Tanner on a number of charges, including burglary, grand theft, and felony child abuse.
The toddler was unharmed.
Officer Sam Clemens reminds citizens to turn off their vehicles, take your keys, and lock the vehicle no matter how short the errand. He says it only takes a moment for a bad person to seize the opportunity to take a running, unlocked car.
