PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota has launched a new anti-meth campaign called “Meth. We’re On It.”
The message will be on billboards, TV and radio spots and social media.
Governor Kristi Noem says the meth crisis in South Dakota is growing at an alarming rate.
“In fact, last year with had 13 people in the state of South Dakota die from meth overdoses.”
The message “Meth. We’re On It” means that all South Dakotans should be on the problem, aware of it, and helping to fight it.
There’s also a new website www.onmeth.com, full of resources for folks trying to get off the drug and for those helping addicts.
The state paid an ad agency about $449,000 for the new campaign.
