BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — POET has donated $2 million toward the construction of the Raven Precision Ag Center at South Dakota State University.
The total cost of the project is expected to be over $40 million.
Poet’s Jeff Broin says his company believes it’s critical to help prepare the next generation of ag leaders with the latest technology.
He says the stakes have never been higher to combat climate change.
“If we want to return to a healthy planet, we will once again need to lean on agriculture, in combination with biofuels and bioproducts, to replace fossil fuels and their derivatives,” Broin says the donation will help future farmers cultivate more sustainable ag practices.
