SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Soon after the U.S. House voted in favor of impeaching President Donald Trump, Sen. Mike Rounds restated his opposition.
Rounds said in a statement that the charges against Trump did not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.
House Republicans were united in their opposition to impeachment; every member of the party voted no. Rounds’ full statement is below.
“The House Democrats have voted to impeach this president, and yet, they still have not provided the evidence to substantiate an impeachable offense. The Senate will execute its constitutional duty, bring this process to a close, and get back to doing the people’s work.”
