SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Lewis and Clark water system just got a boost in funding from the federal government.
The Rural Water Program has received an extra $19 million in funding, bringing the total funding to $132 million for the 2020 fiscal year.
Lewis and Clark is expected to receive an additional $3 million in funding to continue its expansion, totaling at $18 million.
The system includes 20 cities and 3 states.
Construction is estimated to be 82% complete, with five more cities still to be connected.
