SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Farmers need mentors, too. Since the
Natural Resources Conservation Service started a mentorship program in
South Dakota back in 2013, the program has grown to include 160
mentors, with at least one in each county, with expertise ranging from large
operations… to mid-size operations…to gardeners. “Building Connections”
is a 35-page directory that lists volunteer mentors by county, giving their
contact information along with a synopsis of their soil health-building
experience. The program is free. Request your free directory by
contacting any of the partners or visit your local USDA Natural Resources
Conservation Service or conservation district office. The publication is
available via email by contacting colette.kessler@usda.gov
or one can be mailed out by calling (605) 352-1200.
