SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Winter Wonderland begins today–and we don’t mean snow!
At 5 p.m. Friday at Falls Park, the City’s holiday displays, lights, and music begins.
It features more than one mile of garland, 40 wreaths, 276 decorated trees, 215 decorated light poles, over 23 miles of light strings, and multiple animated lighted features.
The display ends on January 5th. There is no charge.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: Beginning on Friday, November 22, 2019, Falls Park will transform into a Winter Wonderland of dazzling lights and holiday music. The spectacular lights and holiday music will be on display daily from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight, ending Sunday, January 5, 2020. This year marks the 16th consecutive year of the Winter Wonderland Light Display.
“Our Parks and Recreation team does an incredible job creating the beautiful display. We encourage residents and guests to experience Winter Wonderland during this holiday season!”, stated Don Kearney, Director of Parks and Recreation.
Winter Wonderland features more than one mile of garland, 40 wreaths, 276 decorated trees, 215 decorated light poles, over 23 miles of light strings, and multiple animated lighted features. Be sure to tune in your radio to FM 97.7 to listen to the festive music while you drive through the park.
The five-story tower in the Visitor Information Center is the perfect location to catch a 360‑degree view of the spectacular lights.
Please note that the Visitor Information Center located in Falls Park will be open from November 22, 2019, through January 5, 2020: Mondays through Thursdays, 5 to 9 p.m.; Fridays, 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Falls Overlook Café will be hosting a Winter Wonderland Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Live music provided by Beautiful Kingdom. A chili bar, holiday drinks, ice cream, and treats will be available for purchase. For more information on this event, contact the Falls Overlook Café at 605-367-4885.
Falls Park is located at 131 East Falls Park Drive, just north of downtown. As you travel to the park, you can take North Weber Avenue or North Phillips Avenue to view the full display.
