SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A minimum-security state prison inmate has been placed on escape status.
Inmate Silas Cavanaugh walked away from the Sioux Falls Community Work Center overnight.
Cavanaugh, age 27, is a Native American male. He is 6-foot tall and weighs approximately 210 pounds.
Cavanaugh is serving a sentence of 5 years with 3 years suspended for grand theft from Brule County.
If you see Cavanaugh, contact law enforcement immediately.
Leaving a non-secure correctional facility without authorization constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
