SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Warm comments and rich memories keep pouring in on social media about former Sioux Falls City Councilor Kermit Staggers, dead at the age of 72.
He may have been known as Dr. No, in public, on city council because he was often the lone losing vote on government spending, but in private, it’s clear, Staggers was always saying yes.
Numerous Facebook posts praise a man who always had time to help others and inspire others.
One man says Kermit changed his life.
Another posted, simply, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
His grandson posted a special photo of Staggers.
“I was privileged to be apart of his last swearing-in as council member for the great city of Sioux Falls. He made a tremendous impact in this community, and I aspire to do the same that he did for 20 years. He was a man of honesty, integrity, and character.”
Staggers died early Thanksgiving morning, after years of battling health issues.
