SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Mark your calendars if you want to be heard on new public school boundaries in Sioux Falls.
The School District has announced the first public input hearings.
The sessions will be January 20, 29, and February 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Instructional Planning Center.
A new high school and middle school are expected to open in the fall of 2021.
That means that new attendance zones or modified attendance zones will be required..
District officials say public involvement will be essential to the new boundary plan.
Re-drawing attendance boundaries can be a tricky, emotional process because people like their schools.
