SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Part of the lure of working for the City of Sioux Falls is the spirit of public service.
That mantra is going to be big with the city’s first Chief Culture Officer, Rana DeBoer.
“One of the things I’m really excited about is having the conversation about the passion, the commitment, the dedication, and the spirit of a public servant.”
DeBoer is tasked with keeping current employees satisfied and growing in their jobs and encouraging more people to consider employment with the city.
DeBoer says what she does – work culture – is new for government, but is very much a part of the private sector, so she is excited about breaking new ground.
She also wants to focus on leadership skills and just not for the people at the top.
“We are all leaders, every single person in the community and every single person in our organization.”
