SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Below normal temperatures are in the forecast for the next several days.
The immediate Sioux Falls area is under a National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook. The area north of Sioux Falls in east-central South Dakota and southwest Minnesota is under a Wind Chill Advisory.
The NWS says the Sioux Falls area can expect a high of only 9 degrees tomorrow and a low of 2.
They predict Brookings will see a high of 4 and a low of 1 tomorrow.
Weatherology meteorologist Megan Mulford says the average temperature for the Pierre/Fort Pierre area this time of year is in the upper 20s.
That won’t be the case this weekend. Tonight the low will be -6, tomorrow’s high 6, and the low 8.
Mulford says a low-pressure system is pushing across the central part of the Midwest, bringing the arctic air with it.
