SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — This latest snowstorm in Sioux Falls was a real polar bear, according to a man on the frontlines, City Snow Plow Chief, Dustin Hansen.
“There is just so much snow. I think its deceiving…You know, when they said the snowfall total was 7 and a half. I think we were seeing areas closer to 12 in Sioux Falls.”
He tells Kelo’s It’s Your Business Show that his crews have been running, 12 on, 12 off, since Friday. They’ll have to often come back around on roads because of the drift.
As always, some people simply don’t get their vehicles off the roads to make it easier for the plows to come through.
“…Almost 600 vehicles ticketed for this event. I think last event we had about 650, so that number will just probably just go up as the P.D. gets the rest of their numbers in.”
The snow gates didn’t really work like they’re supposed to this storm because the snow was over six inches, so your driveway may have been plowed in by a wall of snow.
