SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A 60-year old Hartford man has been charged with unlicensed receipt of explosive materials. Gerald Eldon Gosmire has been sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by 2 years of supervised release.
On November, 27, 2018, law enforcement officers searched Gosmire’s property pursuant to a search warrant.
During the search, 37 explosive devices were found. A permit was required to possess explosive devices of that nature and Gosmire did not have one.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Secret Service.
