SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Teachers at John Harris Elementary in Sioux Falls are raising money for an outdoor classroom.
Cynthia Breen and three others are behind a GoFundMe page for what they say aims to be “a sustainable, lifelong, outdoor innovative learning space for all of our 670+ students.”
The teachers say giving students a space to learn outside will help encourage mental wellness, creativity, and other positive traits.
“A sustainable outdoor classroom would allow students to learn in a multi-sensory environment while fostering the needs of the whole child,” the fundraiser said.
