SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — a drowning dog is rescued from the Big Sioux River by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.
You can hear the scared dog whining as it’s pulled aboard a rescue raft in a video posted by Fire Rescue. And you can hear the owner in an emotional reunion at the end of the video.
The dog apparently slipped the leash to take after geese on the river and couldn’t get out of the icy water.
The rescue raft is a special craft that is pulled in from the shore so rescuers can keep all their hands free.
