PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem says the risk is still low for the Coronavirus in South Dakota, but the state is ready if and when necessary.
“We’ve identified supplies. Made sure that we are adequately prepared. We also know the CDC has been partnering with us to make sure we have the testing ability right here in South Dakota.”
Noem says an internal task force has been formed to stay in touch on a daily basis with local health care providers.
Noem made her comments at a Thursday news conference she holds while the State Legislature is in session.
Thankfully, there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in South Dakota, or in the Sioux Falls region, even as concern grows about the global reach of the disease.
