WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (KELO.com) — Hy-Vee is installing temporary window barriers at grocery check-out counters.
Store officials explain that check-out is where employees and customers are in closest contact.
“The spread of this virus is asking us all to take extraordinary measures and change the way we live our lives,” says Hy-Vee President Randy Edeker, “We are continuing to adapt at Hy-Vee so that we can serve our customers and keep everyone in our stores as safe and healthy as possible.”
And effective Friday, March 20, customers will no longer be allowed to bring in reusable bags until further notice. It’s difficult for the grocery stores to make sure the bags are clean.
