Goodbye Laquon Treadwell. Hello, Josh Doctson.
Two days after the Minnesota Vikings cut Treadwell — the least productive first-round wide receiver draft pick in team history — the team reached an agreement with another former first-round pick, according to ESPN.
Doctson caught 81 passes for 1,100 yards over three years in Washington — two of those years with Kirk Cousins as his quarterback.
The Vikings now have five wide receivers on their roster — Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, Chad Beebe, Bisi Johnson, and Doctson.
Minnesota tried but failed to find a trade for Treadwell, who the Vikings “showcased” in a couple of their preseason games.
The Vikes regular season opens on Sunday a Noon, a home game against the Atlanta Falcons.
