HOUSTON (KELO.com) — A pitcher born in South Dakota wins a World Series.
Washington Nationals reliever Sean Doolittle was born in Rapid City but grew up in New Jersey.
The Nationals beat the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 7 of the Fall Classic Wednesday night.
Doolittle allowed just two runs in 10-and-a-third playoff innings, and didn’t yield a run and gave up only two hits in his three World Series appearances (Game 1, 5, 6) over 3 total innings while earning two saves (Games 1 and 5).
