SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Minnesota Avenue was closed all night from 24th to 28th street for cleanup and investigation of a 3 car pile-up near 26th and Minnesota Avenue that happened last night around 11:30 pm.
The accident was bad enough that Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was called to the scene with the jaws of life.
And one person, a 20-year-old male involved in the accident, lost his life.
One person was trapped in their vehicle at 25th and Minnesota…another was injured in their vehicle next to Kaladis…and one was injured at 26th and Minnesota.
26 fire rescue personnel arrived in 6 fire trucks and 3 support vehicles. They provided support to all 3 vehicles simultaneously and did the extrication in 9 minutes. No firefighters were hurt.
Roads were a bit slick that time last night. No word on the cause of the wreck. Three other people involved in the accident were transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
