HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO.com) — It’s the first child flu death this flu season in South Dakota.
A fourth-grader in the West Central School District has died of complications from the flu.
So this makes at least seven or eight deaths so far this season.
Before this child, all the flu victims had been over 50 years of age.
State and local health officials repeatedly urge that South Dakotans need to get flu shots.
