SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A young man died in a three-vehicle crash Valentine’s Day on Minnesota Avenue in Central Sioux Falls.
Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says it looks like two vehicles were speeding, went through a blinking red light, and hit the third vehicle moving on a yellow light.
“The witnesses thought that it appeared they were racing. At the very least, the both of them were traveling at a high rate of speed.”
Jaren Fountain, 20, died. He was driving one of the two speeding vehicles.
It took hours to clear the crash scene between 25th and 26th Streets. Clemens says the wreckage was spread over a wide area and a street sweeper had to be called in to clean it up.
