HARRISBURG, S.D. (KELO.com) — Besides worrying about the coronavirus, Harrisburg residents had to put up with the semi-annual stinky, smelly turn over of its former sewer lagoons.
The lagoons, on the south end of Harrisburg, smell like rotten eggs–and then some–every spring and fall for a few weeks.
This past weekend, the smell was so bad, one had to think hard about going outside and enjoying the nice late winter sunshine and warmth.
By this morning, however, the smell was still there but not at the same tears-making level as the past weekend.
