SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The City of Sioux Falls is working to restrict gatherings at city-owned facilities to 50 people or less to help fight the coronavirus.
Health Director Jill Franken hopes the private sector will do the same.
“Private organizations in our community are encouraged to abide by this same 50 person limitation.”
The Empire Mall certainly stands out as one of those private organizations, but Mayor Paul TenHaken says all city officials can do at this time is ask.
“They have not decided to close down the mall, or shut down the mall – yet – and I’m not saying they will, but…”
Sioux Falls City Council this week will take action on the 50-person limit at city facilities.
