SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District’s daily email update to parents and students for March 31:
Hello Sioux Falls School District Staff and Families – The Daily Update will be sent Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week since most households now have an established connection with their schools/teachers for remote learning. Call your school office if you need IT support.
+ Starting Wednesday, April 1, 2020, SFSD schools and offices will be open to the public between the hours of 8 am-1 pm. Phone calls and emails will still be answered throughout the afternoon. In-person appointments for after 1 pm can be made by contacting the school or office directly.
+ Please remember to practice social distancing in all situations. The City of Sioux Falls asked us to also pass along a reminder that parks are still open, however, families should stay at least 6 feet from others and avoid high-touch surfaces like benches, playground equipment, etc.
+ FREE meals (M-F) for the duration of the closure continue at 6 school locations: Anne Sullivan, Hawthorne, Hayward, Laura B. Anderson, Lowell, Terry Redlin. Buses deliver meals and school materials along identified routes, making 90+ stops, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Feeding SD distributes food on Monday and Thursday from 6-7 pm at identified locations.
+ Please encourage family and friends with a child who will be eligible for Kindergarten (age 5 by Sept 1, 2020) to fill out online registration. Parents/Guardians must also produce a certified copy of the birth certificate, address verification and the child’s immunization records. Those items will be accepted at a later date, but it is important to fill out the online information as soon as possible.
