SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Mayor Paul TenHaken is advising–but not ordering–additional social distancing and other measures.
These include:
- All people two years old who are able should wear a mask when outside the home.
- Businesses should limit their occupancy to 20 percent of what is listed on their doors. I.e., if 100 people in a space, then limit to 20.
- Stay at home. Do not go out unless it is necessary.
- Use delivery services and take-out.
- People coming home from extended trips should self-quarantine for 14 days.
- Limit shopping trips.
- Only send one person out on shopping trips. Leave the kids at home.
The Mayor notes there is no enforcement mechanism for these suggestions. He says most Sioux Falls residents have done a good job abiding by social distancing and other measures so far.
He noted that tomorrow the City Council will consider a second reading of the “no lingering” ordinance that affects restaurants, bars, gyms, and other entertainment venues. It would stretch the restriction to April 22 if passed by the Council.
