SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — One of the region’s largest health system, Avera Health, agrees with the more stringent steps Gov. Kristi Noem has taken in dealing with the coronavirus.
“Avera supports the State of South Dakota’s efforts. Measures that increase the effectiveness of social distancing and protect our most vulnerable are crucially important at this time to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” says Lindsey Meyers, vice president of public relations for Avera Health.
She adds, “It’s important to recognize the power is in each person’s hands. We can each help by staying at home as much as possible, washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and staying home if ill. If we each do our part, we can flatten the curve and have a much better outcome.”
