SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Looks like South Dakota is on the winning side of the COVID-19 curve, according to Governor Kristi Noem.
“Our infection rate continues to decline. I think we have the lowest number of active cases today than we’ve had since May 7,” Noem tells Kelo Radio’s It’s Your Business Show with Bill Zortman.
June was supposed to be the peak month for South Dakota. Noem says about 2,500 hospitalized cases were projected, but there are only about 100 such cases.
Noem is using how South Dakota is bouncing back from the coronavirus in a new video, pitching the state as the place to be for relocating businesses and families.
The Governor says her decision not to impose a statewide lockdown and the wide, open spaces combine for fresh air and freedom for folks in other states looking for a change.
“To those concerned about what the future may hold for you if you stay where you are right now, come to South Dakota.”
