AMES, Iowa (KELO.com) — A warm week to end June could set the stage for hot and dry conditions well into July.
Dennis Todey, head of the USDA’s Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says that heat could hit crops.
Todey says corn will hit a critical stage next month.
He says soybeans have more time.
The long-range outlooks call for above normal temperatures into September, with precipitation at normal or below normal.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for today for much of eastern and central South Dakota.
