Goodbye, one of the top downfield and contested receiving threats in the NFL. And goodbye, drama.
The Vikings have traded Stefon Diggs and a seventh-round pick to the Bills for a first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2021, FOX’s Jay Glazer reported.
Diggs just completed his fifth year with the Vikings, his highest-wattage season in yards at 1,130. He averaged 18.5 yards per catch, which ranked in the Top 5 overall, as did his 30- and 40-yard receptions. Pro Football Focus rated him anong the best in contested catches and when Vikings quarterbacks have thrown him the ball the last three seasons, their passer rating was a gawdy 130.
But Diggs’ public distrust and disenchantment with the Vikings, including missing a couple team practices amd meetings in October — which the Vikings fined him $200,000 — led to an offseason of uncertainty and cryptic tweets from Diggs suggesting he was unhappy.
Perhaps now Buffalo will make him happy.
