SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Five residents and two employees at the Good Samaritan Village skilled nursing facility in Sioux Falls have the coronavirus.
And a worker at the group’s assisted living facility has also tested positive for COVID-19.
“We are working closely with the South Dakota Department of Health to ensure our response plan meets the needs of this rapidly changing situation,” says Shawn Neisteadt with Sanford Health Communications.
Neisteadt says residents and staff who may have been exposed are being tested and extra precautions are being taken.
“The health and safety of our residents, employees and the community we serve during this unprecedented pandemic remains our highest priority.”
Minnehaha County is the South Dakota hotspot for COVID-19 with well over 1,000 cases now, by far the most in the state.
